Maui is the second largest island of the State of Hawaii.

If you are headed there, first look at the fishing regulations and licence needed here.

But in short you don't need a licence (for recreational fishing) and you fish anywhere except when a sign prohibits it.

If you happen to be surf fishing near a reef remember that most reef fish are vegetarian. So you can use small pieces of bread and frozen peas on small hooks. Shrimps and octopus/squid strips are also ok.
