What about a review on salt water fly reels from a New Zealand expert?
Dr Ian Smith wrote an excellent article (here) and pointed out these elements to look for in a salt-water fly reel:

- Simple drag system
- Good anodising

Moreover he says that he personally likes a cork-based drag system (this I heard over and over again) and an exposed rim.
