Pflueger Fishing Reels
An old Pflueger 510 was my first used, I beg pardon, collection piece of my vintage fishing reel collection. F. Pflueger founded Enterprise Manufacturing Company - a hook manufacturing enterprise - in 1881. Later on, Earnest A. Pflueger expanded the family business and founded the E.A. Pflueger Company which gradually included all types of fishing gears (reels, rods, lines, floats,lures...and nowadays vests).
In 1916 the first Pflueger Baitcasting reel was manufactured in Akron, Ohio (USA), in 1916. The Pflueger spinning reel was introduced in 1954. The production line of bait- and spinning rods and reels was discontinued and then restarted. In 1966 Pflueger was bought and became a division of Shakespeare Company (glass, Lighting Equipment, Sporting & Recreational Goods; global sales in 1997 were $200 millions, about 950 employees then; based in 6111 Shakespeare Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29223, U.S.A...same city as Pinnacle/Silstar ). Today the produce spinning-, baitcasting-, the famous fly fishing- fishing reels, plus rods, and vests. The manufacturing operation of Pflueger Fishing reels is today in Asia. The Plueger President Baitcaster ( 12/130, 6.3:1, 9 ball bearings)
and the Supreme Baitcaster ( 12/130, 6.3:1, 10 ball bearings) received
good reviews and can be recommended as great bass fishing reels.  Their website is really well made. There is even a University section where a novice can start learning the fine mechanic basic terminology of the fishing reels world (e.g. reel bearing). Contact Information:
