Penn Fishing Reels
Penn Fishing Reels are entering a new era: 1932 - 2007 is the 75th commemoration Reel set (see below)... and 2007 is also the year when the company was sold to K2 Inc. which also owns the Shakespeare division. Somehow, a remarkable combination.... "It's a Penn !". This is what some Penn user and afficionados say about their reel.
Penn is also a global comapny making all kinds of reels, rods and tackle.
Penn was founded by Otto Henze, before the second world war and specialized in the surf casting reels in the beginning (salt water reels), to gradually grow ('30! despite the big depression time) to become a mainly USA based company. Penn witnessed a dance of owner hands and passed through a few ones like many tackle companies in the last decades. The Penn 320GTi trolling and casting fishing reel ( 20/320, 4.3:1, 2 balls bearings) received a good feedback and so the family. Simple and well made at a convenient price.
