Bought one of these in the early nineties - still one of my favorite back up surf reels. - I always keep it ready to use - kinda like like a favorite old dog - it may not be up to speed with the most recent and modern reels, but it still gets the job done. Good line capacity and cast well with mono. - holds up to the elements well. I usually couple it up with a 10' med/heavy surf rod. Caught my fair share of puppy drum and bluefish on it.
