History of Angling Resources

 

 

Now here are my best angling history resources that I use to build up my knowledge.

 

My "secret" is just this: I simply go to this website and start reading books like:

A booke of fishing with hooke and line - Mascall, Leonard, d. 1589

The compleat angler - Walton, Izaak, 1593-1683

The American angler (Volume v.25 (1895)) - Harris, William Charles, 1830-1905, ed

I prepared a basic bibliography here:

Then, a wonderful website is the Cornel University Library "making of America". Here I especially like the "Harper" magazine (1850-1899).

But why America? Well you can read on here....
