Fly Fishing Equipment

Ok, I have looked and talked and written about many fly fishing gears and tools, but in the end, what would I buy? What is the best fly fishing equipment that ideally I would like to buy. Here I summarize the difficult task of choosing the "perfect" equipment.

fly fishingOh, and I mean for trout fly fishing, this is what I (sometimes, wish I had more opportunities) do! (and...I wish one day I could fish for salmons, too...).

..and this is just an attempt: feel free to add you suggestions at the end of this webapge!

The Best Fly Fishing Equipment for Trout fly Fishing in the Alps

My own bamboo rod; (A Scott fly rod if in case)

Marryat fly reel for trout marryat reel

A Terenzio silk fly line or Phoenix silk Fly Line as standard. Then either a Cortland 444 Double Taper Fly Line, or ULTRA 4 by Scientific Angler, a sinking Scientific Angler fly line or Jim Teeny fly line (I would keep them all)

Mustad hooks or Tiemco hooks. I am used to these fishing hooks. Also at my angling club in Milan we use the same brands.

Simms waders, high end (G4Z, G4 in illustration).

Well this is not too difficult. Everywhere I look around I see the Simms logo. Friends and fellow anglers alike seem to prefer the Simms waders and accessories. Goretex and high-finishing zips make the high price pay for itself many times over.

There are other good brands like the Patagonia waders, Orvis and over here in europe also the Rapala Pro Wear waders, the Imago wader and the Scierra waders. They are all cheaper than a high-end Simms waders.

In any case, for our limited fishing time, breathable waders for me. Winter is off-season for me.

Ok, just following nice reviews, here, uh!

A Marc Petitjean vest Do you know about him? Read an article I wrote.

(by the way I am intrigued by the Simms G3 guide vest, too)

A rubber one, like a Watchers, a Brodin Fly Fishing Net (the classic)

Watermaster, a tip by Zach.

This is more an optional item for me, but I would really like to try it one day!

Any good polarized sunglasses will do but I wear glasses and so I opt for my own polarized lenses. Aternatively, an Eyelevel Overglass will do for me eyelevel overglass fly fishing glasses

Certainly there are other options , but this is my short list.. and provided there is no problems with money!

Also look at my fly rod reviews webpage and definetely Zach website!
