BOOKS

The best scholarly written book on American Wildlife Art history, from the very beginning up to our days is now out!

american wildlife art book

American Wildlife Art

It's the first edition and this edition will be highly valuable in the future (the price has already gone up, I bought it for $60 in Summer 2010). But the book is not only worth for collectors of course. It's the best study on American wildlife art with detailed accounts on the important artists who created (often unaware) this fashionable "niche" from the 16th century up to our days. The book is massive (nearly 400 pages), beautifully illustrated (I wish it had more illustrations but then it would become 1000 pages and too expensive to buy), masterly researched. It will be a reference and already is! The cover picture is a 1731 hand colored etching by Mark Catesby.

And of course, a Robert Bateman book section, selected from my wish list:

The World of Robert Bateman

The Art of Robert Bateman

An Artist in Nature

Thinking Like a Mountain
