HRH Fishing Hebeisen is the largest , oldest and most respected fishing business and fishing catalog in Switzerland with a website presence since 1998 and a proper shop in Zürich-Seebach since 1950.

This brick and mortar company was founded by the late Adolf Hebeisen (d. 1983) in 1948 and soon became the centre of an intense and quality oriented business notably specializing in fly fishing. Mr Hebeisen’s son and present owner Hans-Ruedi joined the company in 1962 after completing his trade studies. In the ‘60s HR Hebeisen became a professional fly casting champion and won European and World casting championship titles and established world cast records which catapulted him and the business even more under the highlight of the international attention. In the early seventies, the company was the first to introduce fly tying materials and  fly fishing courses to their clients and by 1975 Orvis granted them exclusive distribution rights all over Switzerland, Germany and Austria. In 1976 it was the turn of House of Hardy. To stress the value of this unique achievements, it is perhaps enough mentioning that legendary bamboo rod maker Walter Brunner along with fellow Austrian friends Hans Gebetsroithe and Sepp Prager became fly fishing instructors for the company in 1979. In 1981, the company was  the first in the world  to introduce a low-cost all carbon fly fishing rod which is still a sought after collector piece today. In 1990 HRH Fishing Hebeisen successfully moved into offering fly fishing trips to ever growing locations abroad  such as Ireland, Austria, Germany and recently to Yukon and Patagonia . A following  array of exclusive distributorhip deals are part of their more recent history. So in  2004 they became exclusive national distributor of  the Vosseler fly fishing reel. In 2006 of the legendary Thomas & Thomas, USA.  In 2007 of the Jim Teeny’s lines. Finally HRH Hebeisen is also exclusive distributor for the Stroft Lines

The current CEO, Robert Grimm is in charge since 1982. The HRH Hebeisen team includes six other competent members including Heidi Hebeisen. Owner HR Hebeisen himself keeps the role  of chief editor of the Petri News Magazine and is also in charge of the Hebeisen fly fishing teaching activities.

Once I had a fellow fly angler visiting for the first time Switzerland asking me for a good fly fishing shop. So it should not come as a surprise if  I immediately told him to go to Hebeisen. And as private subscriber of the Petri News, I must say that I eagerly await their 7 yearly issues to dive into their latest offers and informative news. In the last issue HR Hebeisen proudly stressed the Swiss-made quality behind his business which sees in the Magazine the most successful and legendary fishing catalog in the country with well over 22’000 subscribers. And the courses and activities such as Mr Petitjean personal  flytying shows, and many fly fishing courses are just too many to mention.
