Daiwa Fishing Reels Most Interesting Innovations
Being Japanese makes us understand their keen interest in
technology innovation and notably the introduction of their
In Spinning and Baitcasting Reels:
DIGIGEAR : "Digital
gear design ensures a perfect mesh between ultra-tough, surface treated
alloy drive gear and marine bronze pinion gear for optimized speed, power
and durability"
and the discovery of a new material for salt fishing
reels, the
AIR
METAL "- a magnesium alloy - which can withstand saltwater and others
innovations in materials for their rods and tackle."
CRBB, Corrosion Resistant Ball Bearings. "Daiwa’s CRBB
bearings are specially treated stainless steel and last up to 12 times longer
than standard
stainless
steel
bearings
in
a corrosive
saltwater environment."
ABS (ADVANCED BALLISTIC SYSTEM):The spool conical shape is upside-down
to a normal reel spool this results in fewer line tangles." You can
fill it with line right up to the edge of the spool lip without fear of tangles"
ADVANCED LOCOMOTIVE LEVELWIND
"A simple, reliable mechanism
to distribute line evenly on the spool as it is retrieved. The result is
less casting friction, fewer tangles and more consistent drag performance."
in baitcasting Daiwa Fishing Reels:
TWITCHING BAR
"Daiwa’s unique Twitchin’ Bar lets you quickly pick up slack
with just one hand. So hooksets are bone-jarring solid. It can even give
baits
a subtle twitching action—perfect for finessing inactive fish to strike.
Free Floating Spools
"
Unlike other reels, where the pinion gear constantly
rides the spool shaft, Daiwa’s unique system floats the spool independently
on precision, stainless steel ball bearings. Because the pinion rides its
own
separate
shaft, the spool spins freely, unhampered by gear train friction when casting."
In Salt-Water Conventional Daiwa Fishing Reels:
DUAL DISCS DRAG
"Dual wet discs apply pressure to both sides of the stainless brake
rotor, for up to 50% more surface area. Stopping power is ultra-smooth and
consistent."
PRE-SET LEVER DRAG
"Preset lever drag lets you fine-tune your strike tension. Kick the lever
past the stop and an aggressive cam takes you quickly to a higher drag
max than most reels, for the ultimate in near-boat fish control."
