Rolf Baginski
Rolf Baginski, the German master bamboo rodmaker and the "father" of many
rodmakers here in Europe explains what make bamboo fly fishing rods unique.

Dear Friends of the art of fly-fishing,
Split cane fly rods have seen a resurgence of popularity during the last
few years and are gaining more admirers all over the world. The reason for
this development is quite clear and obvious to me.
Most products which surround us in our day life are industrial products.
Most are mass produced by the thousand in an automatic mechanized production
process.
What a contrast compared with a valuable hand-built Tonkin rod. Such rods
combine natural material, history, tradition and last but not least a unique
workmanship and highly qualified handicraft.
The exclusivity of my rods, characterized by the use of selected raw-materials
and the finest manual workmanship, produces a superb appearance and outstanding
finish to all my outfits.
Precious materials joined together by traditional construction methods to
produce an harmonious entirety, the rod of your dreams. To this end my name
will stand in the future.

in Sansepolcro, Tuscany (Italy) in MAy 2008.
